A More Perfect Union is a college level introductory textbook for American Government, Political Science, and American History courses. This is a custom textbook for Dr. J. Tony Litherland, professor of political science at Oklahoma Baptist University. Materials cover the history and philosophy of government and their influence on the Founding Fathers. It traces the development of the American Republican Democratic system of government from colonial times to today, and explains the components of the federal government.
Topics include the founding, public opinion, the media and the press, political parties, interest groups, Congress, the Presidency, and the judiciary. Each chapter is introduced with several questions that the guide the student in their reading. Study question and answer guide, key words, a chapter summary, and several appendices are also included in order to reinforce the material and acquaint the student with primary sources.
